Cvitkovic and Chupryna combine for 18 saves as Tatran cruise past Metalurg
After Meshkov Brest' win in Skopje yesterday against Vardar, Tatran Presov have in Presov against Metalurg responded in the best possible way securing a double-digit win (30:20) against Macedonian vice-champions which keeps them in final tournament race.
Hosts were controlling the encounter from the very first moment slowly opening the gap throughout the match. A little more than ten minutes prior to the half-time whistle Lukas Urban opened the gap to three (8:5) with Bruno Butorac bringing them a five-goal lead (16:11) right before the half time whistle. Goal gap was slowly widening in the second half as well mostly due to a strong night from Tatran's goalkeepers Mario Cvitkovic and Igor Chupryna who have in the end combined for 18 saves. Speaking of their offense, Jakub Hrstka finished the match with seven while Urban and Butorac added five each. Dimitrioski and Tokic netted four each for Metalurg.
In their final regular-season match Tatran will travel to Zagreb to meet Croatian champions and Metalurg will welcome Serbian champs – Vojvodina.
