Zagreb end 2018 on a high note against Vojvodina
PPD Zagreb have on Monday evening managed for each their eleventh SEHA victory of the season defeating Serbian champions Vojvodina 25:23.
Hosts opened the match way better opening the gap to five in as much minutes led by captain Horvat and Josip Bozic Pavletic forcing guest-team coach Boris Rojevic to call an early timeout. After that guests started playing better defensively, led by former PPD Zagreb player Dusko Celica, slowly narrowing the gap all the way to only -1 after the half-time buzzer (13:12). Horvat finished the first half with four goals for PPD Zagreb while on the other side League's scoring leader Milos Grozdanic netted three for Vojvodina.
Match was in the second half levelled all the way until 19:19 when Zlatko Horvat scored a few in a row from the seven-meter line bringing his team a three-goal lead which proved to be the key in this one. Zagreb's captain once again proved to be a vital figure for his team leading their offense with remarkable eight goals today, five of which came from the seven-meter line. Jovica Nikolic on the other side showcased his amazing talent combining four goals with four assists but that was, unfortunately for their fans, not enough to stun PPD Zagreb today. Nemanja Vucicevic and Milos Grozdanic added six each for guests. Damir Bicanic on the other side scored five for PPD Zagreb.
Zagreb will with this win finish the first part of the season levelled with Vardar on top of League's table while Vojvodina remain seventh.
